STUC/TUC Education “Unions into Schools”

Recruitment for the next two training courses for this exciting project jointly run by the STUC and TUC Education throughout Scotland is taking place now. Over 40 classroom visits have taken place and we are building our network of trade union school visitors. Both STUC and TUC Education see this project as an important building block in organising new generations of workers.

The courses will commence at Stow College, Maryhill Campus in Glasgow on Monday 3rd September for 6 Mondays, ending on Monday 8th October (please note there is a Monday holiday in October), and in Aberdeen from Monday 22nd October till Friday 26th October (please note: venue to be confirmed). Both courses will have a re-group day after reps have participated in a school visit, this will be mutually agreed between reps and TUC Education. Both courses are supported by an on-line interactive discussion group where reps can access material. The course is accredited at National Open College Network (NOCN) level 3.

STUC are hosting a “Unions into Schools” briefing session on Wednesday 8th August at STUC Centre (Ground Floor), 333 Woodlands Road, Glasgow,

G3 6NG. The briefing session will start at 10.30 and will finish at lunchtime (a free buffet lunch will be provided afterwards).

Please contact the STUC on 0141 337 8100 to confirm your attendance.
