Research intelligence – Technically indispensable

Technicians who do the legwork in the lab but fail to get recognition for their contribution to research will benefit from a new training scheme.

Read the article in the Times Higher Education Supplement by Paul Jump which discusses the recent introduction of the RSciTech, RSCi & CSci accreditations for Technicians. These awards can be obtained through membership of professional bodies such as the Institute of Science & Technology. The article also discusses recent initiatives at the University of Sheffield to try and address the problem of an ageing and decreasing Technical body within higher education.
